Since graduating, I’ve decided to take the next year to get to know DC a bit better. This summer I crossed off a bit of places and events on my list. First stop: Union Market, US Capitol & US Supreme Court (not pictured). I linked up with a Twitter friend from NYC and showed him around the capital city. We arrived at Union Market right when it was closing so we decided to get Indian food. Indigo was some of the best Indian food I’ve tasted for the price. It’s a quirky little spot in NE DC. They play Indian pop music, have a beer garden outside and repurpose alcohol bottles for lights. Last stop of the night was the US Capitol and US Supreme Court buildings. I never realized how enormous the Capitol really is. All these years I’ve lived to close to it and have only seen it from a distance. Highly recommend an up close visit whether you’re a Washingtonian or a visitor. I definitely plan on going back to Union market while it’s actually open. Have you been? What’s you’re favorite market there? Let me know in the comments below.
